Sarah Madden

Sarah is a recently retired educator. She worked in public elementary schools for 36 years—21 as a teacher and 15 as a principal, most recently at Ryan Road School in Northampton. Sarah always thought of her career, not as a job but as a mission, and did whatever it took to nurture positive growth at schools. Sarah has always had a keen awareness for and commitment to students and families who might need additional support for one reason or another and worked hard to foster meaningful, joyful, and respectful connections. In addition to her work as an educator, Sarah has two grown children. She and her husband, Bill, live in Huntington. Sarah enjoys spending time outdoors, going to music festivals, gardening, reading, and running.

Sarah went to Mount Holyoke College and has always appreciated the strength she gained as a woman from that experience. She appreciates the way the Village has women helping women in so many ways.
